I am about sick to death of giving out shallow meaningless platitudes to random work colleagues and associates just to be polite.
You know usual question you get asked:
"Hi, hows it going?"
and you reply:
"Oh hi, yeah great, alright thanks"
When really you mean:
"Help me, get me out, I'm dying inside!"
Or:
"Fuck you and curse you for eternity for deeming to address me you weasel faced sexless excuse for a man!"
I used to apologise to people that bumped into me! Yes bumped into me!
What the fuck was that all about?!
Now I give them a stare that says I will bite your face off if you even blink in the wrong way. Although most people probably just think I've got a hernia and a staring fixation.
Is honesty the best policy? would it not just make our lives that much simpler, and perhaps miserable, but at least we'd know where we were at.
I don't know! but I am going to attempt to follow a policy of absolute honesty when speaking to friends, family, work colleagues, and pretty much anyone except potential future sexual partners.

It could be both! It really annoys me when people get offended by things that I or someone else might say and immediately jump on their high horse and especially when they seem to think that I have to give a shit about it.

I once told my boss he was an obnoxious, halitosis-ridden, troglodyte. He was thoroughly disgruntled and I was thoroughly unemployed. All because I was honest.

Have to admire your logic re honestly when it comes to sexual partners. Almost tempted to adopt the same practice...Having said that, I think honesty is definitely not the best policy primarily because it often offends people. Or is that just me (that offends)?
