I was very upset to hear of the death of Arthur C Clarke yesterday. A true original thinker and someone who has helped open my mind to many things about life, time, space, and the future to name just a few. His books are excellent 'real' science fiction and he prided himself on using only real scientific concepts and theories in his works about space and space travel.
Notable works include 'Childhoods End' which is my own favourite novel of his(and aswell as his book 'The Sentinel' became alot of the basis for his screenplay for 2001: A Space Odyssey) as well as 'The Songs Of Distant Earth', he wrote myriad other novels and short stories that can be found in many anthologies and as stand alone editions.
In my opinion in the field of Sci-fi writing he is only surpassed by Isaac Asimov with whom he was a life long friend and competitor.
So if you haven't read any Arthur C Clarke yet go out and get some...and get some Asimov while you're at it!

Like everyone else this morning I was reading the Metro and the protests in China and Tibet caught my eye.

Although i don't know alot about the situation and the History I found the idea of Buddhist Monks burning shops and cars rather amusing.

About 3 months ago a new arrival moved into my house with me and my two flatmates. She went by the name of Circe and was a big Mexican bitch who to my astonishment and surprise had two years previously married my Flat mate Tom when they met at uni.

Now, this horrible disgusting humungulous lady already has a child by a previous relationship who was living in America with her equally humungulous but increasingly ugly mother. Just to put this in perspective Tom is 23 years old, he married this crazy woman when he was 21 and has been with her ever since. Last week me and the monster had a massive argument, mainly about the fact that although she didn't work she refused to do any housework while everyone else was out earning a crust. And instead she preferred to sit on her fat arse shoving pizzas down her cake hole and leaving the rubbish for her pussy-whipped husband to pick up.

So anyway, I finally cracked and told her where she could really stuff that triple cheese extra mayonnaise pizza and now she's retreated back across the atlantic to the monster creator. Amid much jubilation on the part of myself and the umarried flatmate, Tom was rather upset.
Now this lady caused him nothing but stress the entire three months she was here. He would walk through the door from work and immediately be berrated for being a crap husband who din't care about her etc etc.
Once she went mad at him because she was expecting a special delivery and the post man didn't arrive on time. This was taken out on Tom for about two days. She really did believe it was his fault the post man hadn't left her package!
Every day we were told by this bitch that we were losers and that we weren't good enough to be friends with Tom, despite the fact that she had previously left him for about 9 months and moved back to america because of their relationship troubles.

Anyway the bitch is gone now(in no small part to vicious arguments myself and her had been having) but Tom still seems infatuated with her. Despite the fact she was nothing but an extremely nasty and vicious person to all of us. I can't describe how pleasurable it was to watch her shouting at me, getting angrier and angrier, and just to laugh in her face and see her get even more angry! That might sound a bit cruel but I don't care she was a poisonous bitter old maid who had nothing good to say about anyone.

What i'm getting round to after that rather long winded build up, is what does he see in this bitter and spiteful woman?

Do some people get pleasure out of being in an abusive relationship? because that is surely what it was.

Also she is the epitome of ugliness. I have nothing against large women I think the female body is beautiful in all forms...except for hers. She is built like a Rugby player, her back is wider than the fucking front door and she has a face literally like a bulldogs, no I'm not exaggerating. Tom is not exactly wildy attractive himself, but it is a bit of a case of 'Jack Spratt would eat no fat and his wife would ear no lean...'

I don't know I just find myself constantly puzzled about their relationship and what on earth they could each be getting out of it?

My job is so boring I spend about two hours a day playing minesweeper on Windows. I dunno why but I find this game highly addictive. I hate solitaire though. A better version of that in a similar vein would be mahjong which i play if I can but the work internet blocks streaming games most of the day. The fucking bastards making me work like they pay me for it or something!

Is it worth it???
After seeing the news of yet more deaths in Israel and Palestine I find myself asking the question are human beings inherently evil. Palestinians are murderers. Israelis are murderers. What disgusting people they are. I've always thought one of the defining characteristics of being human is the capability to do extreme good or extreme bad. It would seem to me that this is true but that the bad far out ways the good. I know there is no such thing as a black and white definition of an evil person or a good person but i feel sick to the stomach that people can condone this sort of thing. People sit at home in Britain and other parts of the world supporting these Palestinian suicide bombers or these Israeli death squads saying that its justified in the name of their God. How DARE they! These mongrel bastards are ignorant idiotic backwards cunts, I don't care who started it or who is in the right or wrong, as soon as they start killing innocent people they are the scum of the Earth. If there is a God in heaven it is crying right now because mankind truly has fallen.
If I had my way I would wipe mankind of the face of the planet and be happy to do it. Human beings bring nothing but death and destruction. Humans evolved because we were innovators and began to use tools. But I bet the first tool a human ever used was a rock as weapon to bash some ones brain out.
I just can't believe the hypocrisy of these so called religious bastards, did jesus not say turn the other cheek, so when the muslim killers knocked down the twin towers christian america did not forgive them like jesus would have but set out on a campaign of death like Pontius Pilate = christian killers. Imagine the president had gone on TV and said as a christian who loves and believes in jesus we forgive the terrorists who committed these acts...now that would have given the world pause for thought don't you think, well i do, i at least think it would have helped prevent home grown terrorism in america at least.
Can these idiots not see the blatant contradiction between their own scriptures and their own actions!! Fucking Idiots.

I'll be heading down to London on friday the 14th and have a day and a half to kill before i meet my friend who I'll be staying with for a while.
I was hoping some of you Landaners mught have a few suggestions as to what i can do to kill the time. And yes i've been to all the bloody museums etcetera and i'm hoping someone can put me onto something that is worth seeing/doing that might not necessarily be on the tourists' schedules?
